With the advancement of modern medicine, surgery remains the most important treatment for abdominal dis - eases. However, the speed of postoperative recovery directly affects the overall healing process and quality of life of patients. The unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in postoperative rehabilitation are gradually gaining attention in recent years. This study aims to explore the application value of Sun Simiao's famous formula Wendan Decoction in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) for abdom- inal procedures.

A total of 180 patients undergoing abdominal surgery who met specific criteria were randomly divided into an observation group (n=90) and a control group ( n=90). The observation group received adjuvant treatment with Wendan Decoction postop - eratively, while the control group received conventional ERAS treatment. Postoperative outcomes including incision pain scores, time to first flatus (hours), length of hospital stay (days), Kolcaba's General Comfort Questionnaire scores, complications, and patient satisfaction were statistically analyzed.

The observation group showed significantly better outcomes in all measured parameters compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05).

Sun Simiao's famous formula Wendan Decoction demon- strates significant clinical efficacy in enhanced recovery after surgery for abdominal procedures. This finding provides a novel therapeutic approach for abdominal ERAS and holds important clinical value.
